New York, New York

Start spreading the news, my new mini album is here!

I have recently fallen in love with the making of mini albums. I have used them in both storing photos and memories and also with happy mail. This time I was truly inspired by Paige Evans' folding mini album and couldn't resist making one!

This star shaped album is filled with gorgeous photos of a city that I really love and together with the Pick me up -collections goodies it is a treat for sure.

A Sweet Thank You

Today was the last day of daycare for my son. The ladies that work in my son's group deserve all the thanks they can get, they are true superwomen!

Having you child in a daycare is a very common here in Finland. As a nation with excellent social welfare and system it is both inexpensive and great quality of care that you get! It is for sure one of the things I am most proud of in our country.

These little gifts are our sweet way of saying thank you, it is not common to give huge gifts to the daycare providers, usually some flowers or sweets. We decided to go with chocolate bars, decorated of course! I like making these simple gifts a little more personal, add a little more value.

I used the Maggie Holmes Chasing Dreams -collection which I seem to have used for ever! It is a never ending collection for me :)

First 50

So it all started in the beginning of April. British crafter extraordinaire, Suse, started a 100 days crafting projects, the #100daysofscraptherapy. The goal was to create something everyday and collect it all in one place, binder etc.

With great enthusiasm I went for it! And boy have I been happy I did! It sure did seem like a big task ahead and there have been days I haven't been at my most creative state. But still I have managed to do it for 50 days already! And I am so happy to continue on with the next 50.

To get an idea of the whole set, here is the video of the first 50 projects.

Aah, I just love to flip through the binder! All the random pieces I've made makes up an awesome binder!

Star boy

One of my all time favorite scrapbooking collections is the Turn the Page - collection by Paige Evans. I have created so many projects with it and will continue to do so as I have hoarded lots of it :)

One of the reasons why I love it is that it has some "boyish" colors too. Now I don't mind having pink and such on a layout with my son, but I also like to match the photo in to the papers and embellishments. And as my son mostly wears blacks, grey and blues, it is nice to have some other colors to work with too.

These stars are fussy cut form a patterned paper and I LOVE them. They are so pretty. Too pretty not to be the main focus of a layout.

Happy Mail Book

Now that I have two pen pals I have the opportunity to make these lovely happy mails but it also comes with a little bit of stress... I want to make a unique piece each time and coming up with new things isn't always easy.

But luckily there is the never ending inspiration of Instagram and Pinterest.
This book style happy mail however was my own idea, yay me! :)
